COMBATANT COMMANDS PANEL

Lieutenant Commander Kyle. E. DeVries, a native of Holland, Michigan, enlisted in the Navy and attended Recruit Training in July of 2001. He graduated from Fire Controlman A-school in May of 2002. In October of 2005, he cross-rated to Information Systems Technician. He was commissioned via the Limited Duty Officer program as an Information Systems Officer in October of 2013 and in 2016 he lateral transferred to Information Professional. In March of 2023, he lateral transferred to Maritime Space Officer. He earned a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from Trident University in 2019 and is a graduate of the Naval Post Graduate School and Naval War College. He is married and has three children, all boys.

 

His first enlisted tour was the USS Shiloh CG-67 as an AEGIS SPY-1B(V) Fire Controlman. As an Information Systems Technician, he served aboard the USS Emory S. Land (AS-39), Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station San Diego, and USS Independence (LCS-2). He conducted multiple Western Pacific and Mediterranean deployments in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, and UNIFIED ASSISTANCE. His qualifications include Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist.

 

LCDR DeVries served onboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) as the Automated Data Processing and Network Security Division Officer and qualified as Tactical Actions Officer as well as Information Warfare Officer. Ashore he served as Pacific Region Network Operations Center Division Officer at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific and qualified as Joint Fleet Telecommunications Operations Center Watch Officer. He also served as a Mission Commander at the Navy Satellite Communications Adversary Team. He served as the J6 Department Head on an Afloat Forward Staging Base during an Individual Augmentee deployment with Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa. He also served as a Program Analyst for the Nuclear Command, Control, Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center, Requirements Division, at United States Strategic Command. He is currently serving as a Branch Chief for the SATCOM Requirements Branch at US Space Command.

 

Lieutenant Commander DeVries’ personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards) as well as multiple unit and service awards.
