HIGH NORTH SATELLITE CAPABILITIES DURING A TIME OF INCREASING TENSION

Col Lina M. Cashin, USAF, (retired) is a senior project engineer in The Aerospace Corporation’s Defense Systems Group where she analyzes Combatant Command requirements for satellite communications.  She also serves as a policy analyst for the Center for Space Policy and Strategy where she has published research on space-based capabilities serving Arctic operations. She has more than 30 years of experience in national security, including 24 years in the Air Force as an expert in space operations and policy where she led a team to establish the U.S. space situational awareness data sharing program, promoting safety of space operations.
