DOD ENTERPRISE SATCOM OPERATIONS

Gus Anderson is the Vice President, for Strategic Business Development at SES Space & Defense. Anderson has over 40 years’ experience within the telecommunications and information technology (IT) field​.

 

Prior to joining SES Space & Defense, Anderson served at DRS Global Enterprise Solutions (GES) for 12 years. His initial roles were Program Manager and Director, International Programs, where he was responsible for overseeing satellite networks, supporting NATO forces in the Balkins, coalition forces in the Middle East, and networks supporting other U.S. Federal and International agencies.  

 

In 2018, Anderson was promoted to Director of Business Development at GES, where he focused customer growth and market understanding geared towards the Department of Defense, U.S. Federal, and international agencies.  

 

Anderson served in the U.S. Army for 29 years as a Telecommunications Corps officer. During that period, he commanded numerous tactical and strategic communications organizations, to include the 509th Signal Battalion, Vicenza, Italy, and the Regional Signal Group SHAPE, NATO HQ (Belgium).  

 

During his military career he also served as an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the United States Military Academy, and as the military speechwriter for two Secretaries of Defense. He retired as a Colonel in 2008.
