Kimberly Morris
Deputy for Space Operations at Naval Network Warfare Command

MILITARY SERVICES PANEL

Kimberly Morris is the Deputy Space Operations (N9) at Naval Network Warfare Command, 10th Fleet. In this role, she monitors Navy SATCOM Operations and supervises the asset resource allocation and mission planning of the Navy’s Commercial Broadband Satellite Program. She is currently leading an initiative to demonstrate resilient SATCOM through proactive management and control techniques using MILSATCOM-compatible commercial capabilities as maneuver space.

 

Kimberly retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2014 after 20 years as a Communications Officer. During her career, she held several SATCOM-centric billets including leading one of the first Joint Force wideband SATCOM “Enabler” detachments expeditiously debarking from amphibious shipping. After 9-11, she deployed to Iraq as the Communication Company Commander, 1st Marine Logistics Group, in support of the War on Terrorism during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her final active duty assignment was leading  an acquisitions effort developing an Expeditionary SATCOM terminal suite at MARCORSYSCOM.

 

After retirement, she served as a program analyst in support of OPNAV N2N6 responsible for the Navy’s Commercial, Wideband, and Protected band SATCOM programs before accepting her current position at Navy Network Warfare Command.

 

She is the recipient of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service award, the Meritorious Service Medal with three stars, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy/ Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy/ Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

 

Education: BA in Political Science with a minor in History from the University of North Texas (94); a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix (08); Graduate of National Space Security Institute: Concepts of Orbital Warfare Course, Fundamentals of Orbital Operations Course, Advanced SATCOM, Advanced PNT, and SPACE 200 and 300 courses.
