STRENGTHENING CYBERSECURITY

Mr. Steven Richard Dominguez has been serving as the Joint Cyber Center (JCC) Director at U.S. Space Command since August 30, 2021. His distinguished career began in 2001 when he entered active duty as an Enlisted Army Soldier, specializing as a Signals Intelligence Analyst and Russian Linguist. Following his graduation from the Defense Language Institute (DLI), he was stationed with the 501st MI BDE at Camp Humphreys, South Korea, and later at the European Cryptologic Center (ECC) in Darmstadt, Germany.

 

After separating from military service in 2006, Mr. Dominguez earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He then embarked on a career with BAE Systems, supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). Recognized for his aptitude in Program Management, he managed the Cyber Counterintelligence Program with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in 2009 and later contributed to the startup of U.S. Cyber Command.

 

In 2012, Mr. Dominguez transitioned to a Government Civilian career as a Cyberspace Operations Planner at U.S. Cyber Command. By 2015, he became the Deputy for Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) with DISA Europe at Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany, where he provided Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) support to both U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command. His expertise in cyberspace operations led to his appointment as Deputy for the JCC at U.S. Africa Command in 2018. In 2020, he accepted a Cyberspace Operations Planner position with the U.S. Army Cyber Command CO-IPE at U.S. Northern Command.

 

Mr. Dominguez holds a Master’s of Science in Intelligence Analysis, graduating magna cum laude from Johns Hopkins University in 2010. He also earned a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Leadership from the National Defense University in 2016 and a Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity Management from SANS Technology Institute in 2024. Additionally, he is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

 

Mr. Dominguez resides in Colorado Springs with his wife, Ashlee, and their two daughters, Vanessa and Lily. They have enjoyed living in Colorado Springs for five years, participating in activities such as hiking, skiing, and golfing.
